A dual-cam Honor 6X is said to be launched on October 18

We now know that dual camera configurations on smartphones will be the trend of the foreseeable future. This year, we have seen a number of manufacturers implementing the setup on their devices, such as LG, Huawei, Apple and only earlier today, Xiaomi’s Mi 5S Plus. Having said that, Huawei was the first known company to manufacture a dual-cam smartphone, a.k.a. the Honor 6 Plus. This year itself, the P9, Honor V8 and Honor 8 all sport a dual camera setup, and it looks like Huawei will be doing just that for the Honor 6X.

The Honor 6X will definitely be a mid ranger, based on the fact that its predecessor, the Honor 5X was a mid range device. According to a source on Chinese micro blogging site Weibo, the Honor 6X was caught passing through TENAA, the Chinese regulatory agency, and renders have shown that the phone will be featuring a dual rear camera configuration. However, the handset will have a vertical setup like seen earlier on the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus, unlike Huawei’s previous devices.

Also, the render of the Honor 6X makes it seem eerily similar to the likes of the Redmi Note 3, with the exception of the camera, sporting a more rounded rear fingerprint sensor, and straying away from the textured metal body of its predecessor for a smoother look and feel. There aren’t many rumors regarding the device so far, but it has been said to be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 650 processor and 3GB of RAM. Huawei opted for a Snapdragon 616 processor with the Honor 5X.

According to the source, the Honor 6X will make its debut on the 18th of October, which is less than a month away. If the above rumors and renders are true, then we will be looking at Huawei’s first mid range device with a dual-cam setup. What do you think?
