ZTE officially unveils Axon 7 with up to 6GB RAM

ZTE finally announces the successor to the Axon Pro, the Axon 7. The handset retains many design elements from the Axon Pro, and features high end flagship specs, screaming premium from the inside out.

For starters, the ZTE Axon 7 is housed by an aluminium unibody, typical of any flagship smartphone out in the market right now. ZTE has also spiced up the names of the color options available – Ion Gold and Quartz Grey. On the front is a QHD 5.5-inch AMOLED display panel, sandwiched between the top and bottom front facing speaker grills. Protecting the high-res display is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.

Underneath the hood, we’re looking at the flagship standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU. Memory wise, there are two options – 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage or 6GB with 128GB of internal storage. Not only that, storage is also expandable via micro SD, giving you a maximum extra of 128GB. The camera department is far from being a slouch either. A 20MP PDAF primary camera with OIS and an aperture of f/1.8, coupled with an 8MP front facing shooter. Below the camera sits something which is new to the Axon lineup – a fingerprint sensor. ZTE has also opted for a USB Type-C port for future proofing. The Axon 7 comes packed with a non-removable 3,140mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0. The handset runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box, with ZTE’s MiFavor UI 4.0 on top.
