ZTE delays Nougat update for Axon 7

Just a couple of months back. ZTE Germany has announced that the company’s Axon 7 flagship smartphone will be getting Android Nougat software this month in January. However, ZTE Germany has just stated that the software will be delayed.

According to ZTE Mobile Deutschland’s post on Facebook, the Axon 7’s Nougat software will be pushed back to a later date. ZTE’s upcoming software is currently still in beta testing, as ZTE Mobile Deutschland has stated. It appears that the Android Nougat software does not meet the company’s standards and expectations at its current state. However, the software update will still be rolling out some time in Q1 2017, which means that users can expect the update to arrive as late as in March.

In order to speed up the testing process, ZTE is doubling up on beta testers, and has provided the link, providing details to users who intend to opt in on its beta program. Regardless, ZTE Axon 7 users will still have to remain patient till kingdom come. The 5.5-inch handset was launched in May 2016, sporting a QHD display, impressive flagship specs at nearly half the price of most flagship smartphones in the market, putting it in direct competition with the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi. Do you happen to use an Axon 7 yourself?
