YouTube Music adds built-in lyrics in its “Now Playing” screen for Android users

Just like Apple Music that has started to include lyrics in its app, YouTube Music is doing the same for its Android users.

You no longer have to mumble your words and guess what’s the rest of the lyrics when listening to your favorite songs on YouTube Music because the lyrics can now be accessed via the “Now Playing” screen. Other pieces of information that are displayed include the artist, song title, number of views and like counts.

Google also made sure to include where the lyrics were sourced from — avoiding cases where the company is accused of lyrics theft. Though the lyrics feature is only available for Android users now, it is expected of Google to make it available for iOS and web users in the near future.

Meanwhile, you’ll need to update your YouTube music to the latest version (3.51) to enjoy the new feature.
