You can now buy fresh groceries on Shopee, and have it delivered to you!

How do you go about making yourself a one-stop e-commerce platform? Well, you sell produce – no, really; Shopee has started a pilot program that lets you buy raw food like poultry, seafood and produce.

The program will initially run within major cities and towns in the Valley and allows customers to order from Fish Club and FreshTap. From now until tomorrow, you’ll be able to get up to 50% off during Shopee’s Shocking Sale.

As its name suggests, Fish Club sells seafood and currently peddle items like black pomfret, king prawns, seer fish fillets and imported items like white dory and neck clams. Delivery fee is at a flat rate of RM20 and takes from 1-3 days to arrive at your doorstep. If you place and order of RM300 and above, no delivery fee will be charged.

FreshTap on the other hand, offers a mix of vegetables, beans, poultry seafood and more. Fancy a chicken stir-fry for dinner? You can get all the ingredients for it (bar the seasonings) for under RM10! Delivery fees are at a flat rate of RM12 and delivery will take between one to three days as well.

This isn’t the first time a produce delivery service have come to local shores – services like HappyFresh, Tesco Online and Honestbee are some of the few existing brands to offer the sae thing; plus, in some cases for many, online shopping for perishable items like this just doesn’t beat actually feeling the products in your hands and verifying that the items are not spoilt.

But we can’t deny that online shopping is ridiculously convenient, even when shopping for groceries – so if you’d like to give Shopee’s newest service a shot, visit Fish Club’s and FreshTap’s Shopee page.
