You can now add GIFs in Gmail for Android using GBoard

Replying messages can be a lot of fun these days with GIFs, and now you can finally do so in e-mails if you are an active user of Gmail on your Android phone. By default, the app is already capable of adding images if you want to do so, however if you want to add an animated GIF, there’s no simple way of doing so and Gmail only recognizes it as an attachment. With the new version of Gmail, you can do it so by using GBoard on your Android phone, simply tap on the Emoji icon and select the GIF tab, then tap on your desired GIF image to be inserted into the e-mail. Sadly, other GIF keyboards are not supported at this point of time.

The Gmail app has gone through a number of refinements back then, including the ability to send/receive money in the US, third party productivity add ons and Exchange Tasks. Having GIFs in your e-mail body is pretty similar to how you do it on your usual messaging apps, hence this is still a pretty good addon if you freqeuently use Gmail to connect with your friends, iOS users will sadly not be able to use this feature at this point of time, but Gmail might probably have an update in the works. If you are using an Android phone and can’t find the feature, check the Play Store for an update to the Gmail app now.
