Yoodo will be discontinued after 29 August 2024

Due to the CelcomDigi merger that happened last year, the MCMC has required Celcom to divest its interest in its digital telco service Yoodo, while the company has yet to find a new owner for the brand, Yoodo has sent an e-mail notifying subscribers that the brand will be discontinued from 29 August 2024.

As per Yoodo’s FAQ page, the service will still continue to work as usual after the said date and customers are not required to do anything for now, Yoodo also hasn’t announced any new plans for current Yoodo customers to migrate to, but we are sure that you won’t get to customize your monthly plan as you do right now, as CelcomDigi is set to announce more details on a new plan on 17 June 2024.

As of now, Yoodo is the only digital mobile service that lets you customize your monthly consumption, but with increasing competition in the prepaid space such as Yes’ FT5G Prepaid and Maxis Hotlink that offers even more data for a similar monthly price, Yoodo has certainly fell behind in its offerings since the merger of Celcom and Digi.

Anyway, its been good knowing that a service like Yoodo once exists, and I’ll be missing its Roam Like Home data benefits.

More info of Yoodo’s discontinuation can be found here.
