Xiaomi WalkingPad is most convenient and minimalist treadmill made [UPDATE: Available on Kickstarter]

Cardio is a rather important exercise that should be done by everyone, some of you might not feel comfortable jogging in a park or going to the gym to run on the treadmill. Buying a treadmill might not be ideal for some that have space issues. Well, Xiaomi has yet again produced a solution for that with the WalkingPad Mini Smart Treadmill.

It is by far the most minimal treadmill that exists, as it comes with no buttons, but rather a LED display. The entire device is controlled using a smartphone app or a small remote control. The treadmill has a speed range from 0.5 to 6 km/h and it weighs around 28kg and supports a maximum load of 90kg. There is also an automatic mode which will increase the speed of the treadmill when the user moves towards the front of the track and will slow down when it detects the user is moving towards the end of the track. It acts as an easier way to set the speed of the treadmill and also acts as a safety measure so you won’t get launched off the track if you slow down too much.

The Xiaomi WalkingPad can be easily folded and tucked away thanks to a wheel, so you don’t have to carry it around. The treadmill is available for funding on YouPin e-commerce website and it will start shipping on 31 May 2018 for a price of $1,699.

[UPDATE] The folks at WalkingPad has announced that the product will be available on Kickstarter starting September 25th for US$499, the weight limit has also been increased to 110KG from 90KG for Western markets. The WalkingPad will be made widely available in November at Amazon for US$599.
