Xiaomi teases Mi A2 arrival by end of this month

It is going to be an exciting quarter, as Xiaomi has teased over Twitter that the successor to its popular Mi A1 will be announced soon. Like the Mi A1, the Mi A2 is still likely based on the popular Mi 6X that was announced last month in China, which comes with a Snapdragon 660 processor supported by either 4GB or 6GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage.

The Mi A2 will sport the same dual 12MP+20MP camera setup as the Mi 6X, which is now an upgraded sensor from the Mi A1 with both sensors featuring a f/1.8 aperture. Instead of running MIUI, the Mi A2 will run Android One, which we have come to love when reviewing the Mi A1 back then, it will come with regular security updates directly from Google and eventually get two years of major Android software updates.

Previously, the Mi A1 launched at a rather attractive price tag of RM1,099, and we should expect Mi A2 arrive at a slightly higher price tag with its upgraded internals, but let’s just wait patiently for Xiaomi to announce the device throughout the end of July, it sure is an exciting month ahead.
