Xiaomi Redmi marks starts off their 2020 with the launch of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max.
The larger Note 9 Pro Max has a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a punch-hole camera right in the centre.
At the back is a quad-camera setup – 64MP main, 8MP ultrawide angle lens, 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies it has a flagship-like 32MP front shooter.
Under the hood, it’s beginning to look more like a mid-range smartphone with a Snapdragon 720G chipset along with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It comes equipped with a massive 5,020mAh battery with support for 33W fast charge – the provided adapter supports this speed.
For the Redmi Note 9 Pro, you get the same 6.67-inch FHD+ display and chipset. This comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The biggest difference here is in the camera setup – it’s still four lenses, but with a 48MP main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor.
It’s got a massive 5,020mAh battery too but only supports 18W charging.
Both phones are available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black. The Note 9 Pro is priced from INR12,999 (RM747); the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is priced from INR14,999 (RM862). It is unsure when the devices will arrive in Malaysia, but stay tuned for updates from us.
