Xiaomi Redmi 9T launching in Malaysia this January 8

The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is making its way to local shores this January 8 and it’ll bring a more robust photography experience compared to the original Redmi 9.

The new device is supposedly a re-badge of China’s Redmi 9 4G, meaning it’ll get a 48MP main lens, an 8MP shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, you get a basic 8MP lens.

Under the hood, the phone should arrive with a Snapdragon 662 which should offer an overall better experience in battery life, and regular browsing over the Redmi 9’s MediaTek Helio G80. The latter wins in gaming performance according to nanoreview.net, but just barely.

The phone will be 6.53-inches large and will pack a FHD+ LCD panel along with a massive 6,000mAh battery.

In any case, we’ll have to wait for the launch this January 8 to learn about its official specs – if you’re keen, you can watch the livestream on their Facebook page here.
