Xiaomi officially launched the Mi MIX 3 in Malaysia, starting from RM2,199

Xiaomi has officially launched their latest premium flagship Mi MIX 3 smartphone in Malaysia.

“Our MIX series line of smartphones is synonymous with ground-breaking innovations and eye-catching aesthetics, pushing the envelope of what the modern smartphone can become. The Mi MIX 3 continues that tradition. It is a testament to our commitment to innovate and to create a device that will appeal to users who appreciate technology as well as art,” said Steven Shi, Head of Xiaomi South Pacific Region.

The Mi MIX 3 comes with a slider that incorporates neodymium magnets that has been carefully calibrated.

Once the screen is pushed down, the magnetic mechanism immediately kicks in and
finishes the opening in a snap with just the right amount of force.

The slider not only creates space for front camera and antenna, but it also allows the phone to be viewed in maximum full-screen display.

The Mi MIX 3 sports a 6.39 inch, 2340 x 1080 pixel FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display, with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

Its bezel has been further reduced from its predecessor to achieve an extremely high screen-to-body ratio.

The full-screen slider is fully customizable, where users can slide open the phone to answer calls or customize it to launch difference functions.

In addition to that, there’s a special in-game function for the slider where the phone allows users to access screen capture, screen recorder, and hide notifications during gaming sessions.

The Mi MIX 3 features a 12MP + 12MP rear dual camera that uses the same sensors as the Xiaomi Mi 8.

Besides that, Xiaomi has added a steady handheld night photography mode in the Mi MIX 3, that allow users to use various useful software features.

Coupled with the rear camera’s 4-axis OIS, the Mi MIX 3 is Xiaomi’s best smartphone for low-light photos to date. The rear dual camera also features 4K video recording and 960 fps slow-motion video capture.

The Mi MIX 3 also features a 24MP + 2MP front camera, that sports a Sony IMX576 main sensor that can capture more details than ever before.

In low-light conditions, the sensor uses Super Pixel technology to combine the information of four pixels into one 1.8μm large pixel. The secondary 2M sensor captures depth information to facilitate an AI bokeh effect.

The Mi MIX 3 continues the series’ tradition of using unique materials with artistic design by adding a new “Sapphire Blue” version inspired by Chinese ceramic crafts.

These ceramic pieces are renowned for their beauty and were meticulously made using a complex production process with very precise temperature control.

To top it all off, Xiaomi added a dedicated AI button on the left side of the phone for the very first time.

Users are now able to wake Google Assistant by holding the AI button and customize a one click or double click to perform different functions.

The Mi MIX 3 also supports Qi standard wireless charging and comes with a 10W wireless charger.

The Mi MIX 3 will be available to purchase starting from 12 January 2019.

With the Onyx Black priced at RM2,199 whereas the Jade Green and Sapphire Blue priced at 2,299.

All colour variants is equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
