Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air gets a refresh, comes with 8th Gen Intel processors

The Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch laptop models are getting an 8th Gen Intel Core refresh on both the i5 and i7 variants. This keeps the 13-inch models up-to-date as the newly launched Mi Notebook Pro which already comes with an 8th Gen Intel Core Processor.

Xiaomi did update the Mi Notebook Air to the 7th Gen processors back in 2017 which brought improvements to the system’s overall performance. They also added a fingerprint sensor to keep up with the time and support Windows Hello. Other than the processor upgrade, the refresh models will come with 6GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB of PCIe SSD which can be expanded and AKG speakers like the previous models. The Nvidia GeForce MX150 will replace the previous 940MX chip and it comes with an FHD screen with 5.59mm bezels. As for cooling, the laptops now come with ultra-thin metal blades which controls the temperature and avoids throttling. All these new features and upgrades will weigh only 1.3kg and it can deliver 9.5 hours of battery life.

The Core i5 variant will be priced at 5,399 Yuan and is currently on pre-order on Mi’s official website. The Core i7 variant is currently not available yet and the price will be announced at a later date.
