Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to launch this August 10: Rumored to come with in-screen selfie lens

Xiaomi has confirmed that they’ll be launching the Mi Mix 4 flagship this August 10 – and the device is rumored to be one of the first in the market to implement the in-screen selfie lens technology.

The brand took to their Weibo page to announce that the launch event will take place at 7.30pm in their native China, which would also be the same time here in Malaysia.

According to reports, the device is confirmed to arrive with MIUI 12.5, however that’s all the confirmed information we know. Rumors have it that the phone will ship with the Snapdragon 888 chipset along with up to 120W of fast charging, and an 8GB+128GB configuration.

On top of that, the phone is rumored to also come with a full screen display – meaning little to no bezels; which brings about the use of the in-screen selfie lens. As previously reported, the technology works by dimming or turning off the LEDs that sit in front of the lens making it transparent, which would allow the lens to now ‘see’ and absorb light.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix series has a reputation of pushing boundaries with its unorthodox design and implementation of technologies – for example, we saw the wrap-around display on the Mi Mix Alpha, and even a sliding camera on the Mi Mix 3; so there may be some truth to these rumors after all.
