Having sat out when Xiaomi launched the Mi Max phablet alongside the unveiling of MIUI 8, the Mi Band 2 is slated to finally make its official appearance early next month, according to a report by Chinese site MyDrivers.
During the release of Xiaomi’s Mi Drone yesterday, Lei Jun, the company’s CEO has apparently revealed that the Mi Band 2 will be launched on the 7th of June, which is less than two weeks from now. Lei Jun has previously mentioned on Chinese social media that the Mi Band 2 was facing some production issues, which will lead to a delay in terms of its launch and sale, but looks like we don’t have to wait for as long as a month for the fitness band to be unveiled.
The Mi Band 2, which was allegedly flaunted on camera by Lei Jun not too long ago, appears to have a small display, something which was non existent on the first Mi Band and the Mi Band Pulse. The fitness wearable is said to cost at least double the price point of its predecessors. But comparing with the likes of Fitbit and Jawbone, the Mi Band 2 might just pose as a potential threat.
