Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition launches in Indonesia

Most of us do know that Xiaomi’s MIUI software is far from stock Android, mainly taking inspiration from Apple’s iOS platform. Things took a surprising turn when the company unveiled the Mi A1, a rebranded version of the Mi 5X running on stock Android under the Android One program. The reception for the Mi A1 has been good so far, so Xiaomi has taken things up a notch by launching a special edition Mi A1 in Indonesia.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition is basically the phone with a new red paint job. Instead of the current Black, Gold and Rose Gold, this phone comes in a red aluminium finish. The specs remain the same throughout apart from its new color. Just to recap, the Mi A1 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB of expandable storage.

The display is still the same 1080p screen measuring at 5.5-inches. The dual camera setup consists of two 12MP sensors – one wide angle and one telephoto, while the front facing shooter is of 5 megapixels. It packs a 3,080mAh battery. The phone still retains its IDR 3,099,000 (RM 886.10) price tag and will be sold at the Mi Store through Lazada Indonesia.
