Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will sport a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, launching alongside the Mi MIX Alpha

We’ve heard of the Mi MIX Alpha that will sport a dual display, but Xiaomi will also be launching the Mi 9 Pro 5G with the Mi MIX Alpha.

Appearance-wise, the Mi 9 Pro 5G looks similar to the Mi 9 that has a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch and thin chin. The leaked images on Weibo reveals the phone in a colour similar to the recent Xiaomi Mi A3’s More Than White variant, and it should come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor since there’s no physical mount on its back.

What makes the Mi 9 Pro 5G stand out is its specs — Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will also be shipped with MIUI 10.4.1 based on Android 9 Pie and it’ll get a bigger 4,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging and 10W wireless charging.

The Mi 9 Pro 5G will also feature a 48MP triple camera setup but hopefully it will be sporting a better Sony sensor than the Mi 9 that wasn’t too impressive when it comes to lowlight photography. We should still be getting a 20MP lens for its front camera.

Either way, GizmoChina reported that the phones will be launched in China today, so we’ll get all the confirmed details soon.
