Xiaomi Mi 9 has passed SIRIM certification and could arrive in Malaysia soon

If you’ve been keeping up with the release of Xiaomi’s Mi 9, and are excited about it, you’ll be glad to know that reports have surfaced that the device have passed SIRIM certification.

That’s right, the Xiaomi Mi 9 could be coming to Malaysia soon according to SoyaCincau.

The Mi 9 will be Xiaomi’s new flagship – it sports a 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a tear-drop bezel, while its form factor is supposedly “fully-curved” according to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun during the announcement of the phone in China.

The phone will also come equipped with the Snapdragon 855 chipset with either 6GB or 8GB RAM, a Kryo 485 processor as well as the capable Adreno 640 GPU. The Mi 9 also ships with a triple-camera setup which includes a 48MP lens.

During Lei Jun’s presentation, the Mi 9 scores a respectable 107 on the DxoMark benchmark. The phone is powered by a relatively small 3,300 mAh battery, but it does support wireless charging.

Based on the prices given during the launch in China, we can expect the Xiaomi Mi 9 to cost around RM1,816 when it hits the local market. There is no news yet when the Mi 9’s smaller Mi 9 SE and beefier Mi 9 Transparent Edition will arrive, but we reckon it won’t take too long.
