In a Weibo post made by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, he stated that the Redmi Note 7 supports Quick Charge 4 up to 18W. But in the post itself, it seems like the CEO is also leaking some information about the Xiaomi Mi 9.

In his post, a fan replied by asking if the Mi 9 will come with 24W charging power or even higher, and Lei Jun’s reply is that the Mi 9’s fast charging will definitely be better. This matches previous reports that suggest the Mi 9 might actually come with 3500mAh battery with 32W fast charging. However, Lei Jun could also mean that the Mi 9 will be better compared to Redmi Note 7, which could indicate to the 24W charging power.

Now 32W fast charging is tied to the Quick Charge 5.0, which is rumoured to come with Snapdragon 855 chipset and can support 15W wireless charging. Indeed, Mi 9 is reported to come with the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset though it is said to lack support for wireless charging.

Other leaks mentioned that the Mi 9 will come with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a water drop notch with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Mi 9 is also equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, in addition to being shipped with Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. Besides that, it will sport a 48MP main camera, a secondary 12MP camera and a 3D TOF camera.

The phone is expected to be priced from CNY2,999 and available in March, and many are predicting that there will be an announcement at MWC near the end of February.
