Xiaomi Mi 6 already in the works

2016 has been a pretty year for Xiaomi, having launched multiple devices. Two days ago, the Chinese manufacturer unveiled the flagship Mi Note 2, a Mi VR headset and the attractive bezel-free Mi MIX concept phone. The launch of these three products come after the company’s recent unveiling of the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus, which are minor refreshed of Xiaomi’s initial Mi 5 flagship that was launched earlier this year. Xiaomi doesn’t seem to be resting on its laurels, as the company is already rumored to be working on the Mi 6 for next year.

According to GizmoChina, Xiaomi has reportedly conducted an online questionnaire for its fans, allowing them to vote their preferences on its next flagship handset. The Mi 6 will likely carry a 1,999 CNY price tag like the current Mi 5. Xiaomi has provided three preset options regarding the specs of the Mi 6. Option 1 consists of a Snapdragon 8xx processor, 4GB of RAM, 32 GB storage and a 20MP rear camera enclosed in a metal chassis. Option 2 features a curved glass design with a Snapdragon 65x chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage with a dual rear camera setup plus OIS. Option 3 reverts back to the more conventional metal body while retaining the same Snapdragon 65x processor, but with a bumped up 6GB of RAM, 64GB storage and dual rear cameras without OIS.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to go official within Q1 of 2017. It is unlikely that the company will go for a midrange Snapdragon 65x series processor underneath the hood but we can’t be certain for sure. Which option would you choose? Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
