Xiaomi Mi 10 Q1 launch date possibly confirmed by CEO Lei Jun

In the spirit of the Lunar New Year, we’re going to be a little optimistic for a change – our Feng Shui master says to do so. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has apparently taken to the interwebz to confirm the approximate launch of the Xiaomi Mi 10 flagship with its Snapdragon 865 chipset.

A poster touting the chipset along with the words “Xiaomi Mi 10, coming soon“ was posted online, and sources are tying that to Lei Jun announcing that the phone will be launched in Q1 this year – we’re not entirely sure if these claims come off of a spoken announcement from Lei Jun himself, or it’s something derived from just the poster.

Either way, we said we’re going to be optimistic, so here we are. Lei Jun also previously hinted of a post-Chinese New Year launch, so his rather vague “Q1 launch” date may actually come very soon.

At this point, we already know that the phone – or at least the Mi 10 Pro – will arrive with a 108MP camera; while a Mi Mix Alpha-like camera module (at least in terms of design) could be seen on the regular Mi 10.

In terms of hardware, alongside the Snapdragon 865 is possibly up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage – a configuration standard expected to come with all flagships this year.

When it comes to chassis design, we can expect a Mi Note 10-like look, with curved edges on the sides. The display panels could push up to a 90Hz refresh rate, which we’re starting to see come with flagships now. We’re not sure about the battery capacities, but rrumours have it tha the Pro variant can support up to 65W fast charge – impressive.
