Xiaomi Malaysia to launch RedmiBook 15 on June 6th

Xiaomi’s product portfolio in Malaysia has just gotten a little merrier, as the company will be officially bringing in the RedmiBook 15 on 6th June 2022 as teased on its official Facebook page, while this should be a sub RM3000 mid-range laptop, you shouldn’t expect it to come equipped with Ryzen 6000 or Intel’s Alder Lake chips.

Referencing the features and specs from Xiaomi India’s website, the RedmiBook 15 is expected to come with Intel’s Tiger Lake processors supported by 8GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory and up to 512GB of SSD, it has a 15.6-inch Full HD display and generous amount of I/O, Xiaomi quotes a 10-hour battery life with the 46Whr battery which can be juiced up to 80% in 53 minutes with a 65W USB PD adapter.

Overall, the RedmiBook 15 seem like a pretty regular laptop with no exclusive brand features like how Huawei and Honor is doing with their laptops, it is more of an icing on the cake for the company to enter the laptop market in Malaysia, but on the other hand, we can finally expect Xiaomi to launch more laptops here in the future, as the company has also recently unveiled the RedmiBook Pro 2022 in China which comes with AMD’s Ryzen 6000H processors.

What’s left to look forward now is price, as the RedmiBook 15 will be competing against other ‘phone-branded’ laptops such as the Realme Book, Infinix INBook X1, Honor MagicBook 15 and Huawei MateBook D15, stay tuned to Xiaomi Malaysia’s Facebook page for more updates.
