A slew of various leaks of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 have been recently published online by multiple sources, mainly in Chinese micro blogging site Weibo. Alleged website images of Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi phablet have emerged, and it is claimed to feature either a Snapdragon 630 or 660 processor, according to tech site GSM Arena.
According to the source, Xiaomi has narrowed down the processors to the Snapdragon 630 or the Snapdragon 660, both of which are relatively new by Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 660 is slightly more powerful on paper, and features a tad better GPU onboard. Other details indicate that the Redmi Note 5 will come in three variants – 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 4GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage.
Further leaked website images show the Redmi Note 5 to pack a smaller battery than the current Redmi Note 4 at 3,790mAh, a step down from the latter’s 4,100mAh battery, but will come in a slimmer 7.5mm form factor. As for the camera, the phone will reportedly feature a 16MP rear sensor alongside a 13MP selfie shooter.
The images obtained by GSM Arena definitely seem pretty legitimate, but do take these rumors with a grain of salt regardless. What do you expect of Xiaomi with the Redmi Note 5?
