Xiaomi confirms the Mi 6 will receive MIUI 10 and Android Oreo updates

Xiaomi has just announced that the Mi 6 will be getting a stable version of MIUI 10 alongside Android Oreo in an upcoming update. There are other devices that will be receiving the update alongside the Mi 6 and the company has said that this is going to be one of the biggest updates that the company will release.

Back in May, the company shared a video that showed the new features that MIUI 10 will bring. They also said that they will be using a lot of AI features to enhance the MIUI experience. Some of the features highlighted were AI Portrait which gives you a bokeh shot without the need of dual-sensors and AI Preload which will lower down the loading times of apps and UI functions. MIUI 10 is also designed for bezeless phones as it supports a full range of gestures that we have seen in the MI 8.

Mi 6 users will be happy to know that they will be rolling out the update soon, however, they are starting with the Chinese version of the phone first before releasing the global version of the update. If you don’t mind using the Chinese version, you can install it when it releases but you will have to install Google Play on your own.
