Microsoft’s update to the Xbox One, the Xbox One S, is coming to stores in selected countries on the 2nd of August.
First revealed back in E3, the upcoming Xbox One S is stated to be 40 percent smaller than the original Xbox One. Small though it may be, the Xbox One S will come with more storage space than its older sibling, sporting up to a 2TB hard drive. If 2TB is a bit too big for your taste, the Xbox One S will also come with a 1TB version and a 500GB version. Aside from that, the Xbox One S will also be the first console that allows you to stream videos in 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). The new Xbox Wireless Controller will also be bundled with the Xbox One S, featuring textured grip, improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth support.
As mentioned earlier, only selected countries will have the Xbox One S available in stores. Needless to say, Malaysia is not in the list of countries that will be receiving the console. Also disappointing is the fact that Singapore won’t be receiving the Xbox One S until later this year, so if you’re looking to import it, you’re going to have to travel a bit further to get it. The Xbox One S will retail for USD 399 (RM 1,591) for the 2TB version, USD 349 (RM 1,392) for the 1TB version and USD 299 (RM 1,192) for the 500GB version. The new Xbox One controller will be sold for USD 59.99 (RM 239).
