World’s first 17-inch foldable laptop will cost you RM15k

ASUS is once again showing off on how it can transform a regular tablet and laptop experience with the introduction of the Zenbook 17 Fold, which is the world’s first 17.3-inch foldable laptop with an OLED screen, and it will cost you for a cool RM14,999.

The Zenbook 17 Fold essentially folds like any smartphone albeit a lot larger, when unfolded in a tablet mode you get an expansive 17.3-inch 2.5K OLED touchscreen, and when folded into a laptop mode, you get two 12.5-inch 1920×1280 displays, which the bottom part can become a virtual keyboard.

While the Zenbook 17 Fold might sound like a gigantic device to hold, ASUS claims a mere 1.5kg weight for the device only and 1.8kg with the physical keyboard, it is impressively thin at 17.4mm when folded, which is relatively lightweight if compared to a regular 17-inch laptop, but you probably won’t want to hold it like a tablet for extended hours.

Powering the Zenbook 17 Fold is an Intel Core i7-1250U processor paired with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD, it is also an Intel Evo certified device so you should expect fast boot up speeds, WiFi 6E, at least 8 hours of battery life on the 75Wh battery, and two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that also supports USB 4.0 speeds.

The Zenbook 17 Fold will be available for purchase on Q4 2022 onwards on the ASUS 2-in-1 store.
