Windows 10 variant of Alcatel Idol 4S spotted

Windows Mobile, or Windows 10 for mobile phones have been left biting the dust in a world where the dominance and competition of Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platforms are prevalent. There is however, a small number of manufacturers that still show a hint of faith in Windows 10, allowing Microsoft’s operating system run on one or two mobile devices, mostly tablets. Having said that, there are talks of an Alcatel Idol 4 Pro operating Windows 10 out of the box, and it has been spotted, in packaging form.

Roland Quandt from WinFuture has uploaded an image onto his Twitter feed of the alleged box of the Windows 10 Alcatel Idol 4S, not the Pro. He explained alongside the image that the Windows 10 Alcatel Idol 4 Pro will be marketed as the Alcatel Idol 4S instead, exclusive to major US carrier T-Mobile. Seen on the box is also an included VR headset along with the phone itself, reminding us of the pre-order bundles that came with the Android variant of the Alcatel Idol 4S, which had the VR headset bundled in.

Honestly, there isn’t much else apart from just the boxes seen in the above image. It is hard to say whether or not the Windows 10 Idol 4S will retain the same internals from its Android counterpart if this turns out to be true. The Android model features a mid range Snapdragon 652 SoC underneath the hood with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It is highly likely that the rest of the hardware will remain the same.

Do take whatever that was mentioned above with a huge grain of salt, but if Quandt’s claim is true, this will probably be Alcatel’s way of showing some form of support for Microsoft’s mobile operating system. Anyone here using a Windows mobile device? Let us know at the comments section below!
