Windows 10 Insider builds will be receiving Game Mode this week

Back when Microsoft announced the Creators Update to the world, one of the key features of the presentation was something the company referred to as “Game Mode”. This particular mode will soon be available for those who have access to the Windows 10 Insider builds as Microsoft has announced that Game Mode will be arriving on Windows 10 this week.

As the name of the feature implies, Microsoft is looking to optimise Windows 10 PCs for increased performance in gaming when Game Mode is enabled with said performance increase is expected to affect both legacy Windows games (Win32) and modern titles (UWP). Alongside the performance boost, Microsoft will also be introducing some of Game Mode’s visual elements to the Windows 10 Insider build. All of the elements are expected to be in place in future builds.

Beam will also be implemented with the next update, allowing you to stream your gameplay without needing to download additional software for it. In order to launch Beam, all you’ll need to do is to pull up the Game bar by pressing the Windows key and the G key at the same time.

Finally, Microsoft will be introducing some new upgrades to Xbox Live that will affect both the Xbox One and Windows 10. The upgrades will see Windows 10 get an improved Activity Feed, the Arena feature, as well as improvements to Clubs and Looking For Group.
