WhatsApp has not given up on implementing its new privacy policy; however, the company is trying to set the record straight and explain what the change is and how it will affect users.
New privacy policy first announced in January
The privacy policy was first announced on January 4, 2021; WhatsApp wrote on its blog that users will have to agree to its terms and privacy policy if they want to continue using the messaging app. However, this caused a backlash which led to WhatsApp delaying its new policy.

Personal conversations will not be affected
However, the new policy will affect those who message business accounts; by using Facebook’s hosting service, Facebook will get some data including chats between customers and business owners for marketing purposes.
