WhatsApp might limit creating multiple groups and adding multiple participants at once

WhatsApp has been dealing with fake news issue recently, and MySmartPrice has recently found that WhatsApp may be introducing new features within the app to counter all the problems.

According to the teardown of the latest WhatsApp APK file version 2.18.367, MySmartPrice found that WhatsApp might be limiting its users from creating too many groups or adding too many contacts into groups out of a sudden. This means users will only be allowed a certain number of contacts to be added into a group at a time. If they’ve exceeded the limit, they’ll have to wait for an amount of time before they’re allowed to add more contacts into the same group.

This is also similar for creating groups. The teardown suggests that the new feature will stop users from creating multiple groups at once, and they’ll need some time before they’re allowed to continue creating groups. This is particularly useful in reducing spam and the spread of fake news, and it will barely affect normal WhatsApp users.

The feature will probably be added to WhatsApp in the near future, reducing if not putting an end to the fake news and spam issues. But then again, there is no absolute guarantee that the feature will be introduced since it’s not official yet.
