WhatsApp have release a new update for the Android Beta app that brings a new feature called “Private Reply”. The new feature allows WhatsApp user to reply privately to a particular participant directly in a group chat, without the knowledge of the other participants who are in the same group chat. This feature is now available for Android users with beta version 2.18.355, but it has been reported that the new update appears to come with a few bugs which causes the app to crash when user delete media files from a group.
In order to use the “Private Reply” function, just tap on the message of the sender of whom you’d like to reply in private, then tap onto the three dotted menu on the top right corner of the app and select the private reply option. Once you choose the option, the selected message will open privately in the chat window of the sender in the form of a reply thread.
To download the latest WhatsApp beta on your Android device, you need to be a part of the official Google Play beta programme. Alternatively, you can download its APK file directly from APK Mirror.
