If you have read my review of Webe back then, I didn’t like the fact that the telco requires you to be an existing TM/P1 customer and use a webe-certified smartphone in order to enjoy its stated RM79/month fee. It seems that webe is finally eliminating this requirement, as of today, all new and existing subscribers of webe’s unlimited plan will no longer need to fulfill the mentioned requirement and only required to pay RM79/month, that’s a rather commendable move by webe and it should give the competition a run for what it is offering.
Despite of this, tethering is still not included as part of the package and users will still be required to subscribe to a tethering plan, which will cost RM6 (excluding GST) for 2 hours, though there is a way to bypass that if you own an Android device, it is still a trade off for some users who wants to tether their data connection to other device. In addition, I’ve also noted back in my review that webe’s LTE speed has been capped at 10Mbps, hence this isn’t a data plan meant for speedy downloads.
If you can live with the compromises, then good, head on over to www.webe.com.my to find out more about the telco’s offering.
