Webe launches roaming services, RM39/day for unlimited data in top 18 destinations

Webe has prepped the media for a trip down to Singapore a couple of days back, and I’m actually now writing this article in my Singapore hotel tethered to my Webe data roaming service, provided by Starhub. At long last, Webe has finally launched its roaming services, currently available in over 180 countries and with a flat rate of RM39/day, you get unlimited roaming data in the top 18 travel destinations while being able to tether your connection to other devices should the preferred roaming partner telco supports it.

Unlike some other telcos, the RM39/day data roam pass will work with the country’s 4G network if available, while the telco hasn’t exactly specified which top 18 destinations are supported on its site, notable countries include Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, India, Indonesia, Macau, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom and many more. Despite of that, customers are still required to pay for roaming charges when making phone calls and sending text messages, which is quite a shame considering that the data roam pass is slightly expensive than the rest of the players, while Maxis is already offering unlimited calls and SMS once the roaming pass kicks in.

To activate international roaming services for Webe, you can do it via selfcare, calling the customer careline at +6011-1000 1000 or visit any webe lounge. For more information about webe’s international roaming charges, click here for more details.
