We might be getting an OPPO Find X5 series instead of Find X4

OPPO’s new flagship Find X series is set to arrive in Q1 2022 and instead of a Find X4 series, it’ll be named Find X5 instead. This might be due to the number 4 sounding similarly to the word “death” when pronounced in Chinese.

According to Digital Chat Station, the series might offer three variants. If we base it on the previous Find X series, the offerings will probably consist of the vanilla Find X5, the Pro variant, and a Lite variant.

In terms of hardware, the series will sport both Qualcomm’s and MediaTek’s flagship SoCs. Other than that, OPPO’s first imaging chip, the will also be equipped in the new series. This chip is built on a 6nm process technology and even supports real-time RAW image processing and 4K Night Video.

The company has patented a design with an under-display camera and secondary rear display and if all goes well, we can expect these traits on the new flagship series.

The OPPO Find X5 series is scheduled to release in Q1 2022 so we won’t have to wait too long now, do stay tuned as we keep you updated.
