Waze introduces Cantonese dialect as new voice navigation option

Its undeniable that everyone with a smart phone would have at least one GPS navigation app stored in their phone to help users to navigate around. One of the most used GPS app is the “Waze” app and they have just announced that they have added in the Cantonese dialect into their app as one of the voice navigation option.

With active support and recruitment efforts from the community, the team behind Waze was able to put together the new language option in a span of just two months. Waze localization team have specifically selected a Hong Kong approved Chinese language voice to ensure precise pronunciation and directions to give drivers a clear and secure driving experience.

By adding in the Cantonese dialect, Chinese speaking drivers will have a better understanding of directions and an improved driving experience with plenty of choices to pick from. According to Waze, the app have a total of 50 different type of languages for drivers to choose from.
