Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric launches in Malaysia for RM288,888

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has introduced the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric to Malaysia today, the C40 Recharge is essentially a coupe version of the overwhelmingly successful XC40 Recharge and even shares the same electric drivetrain, however the C40 Recharge has longer range and sprints from the starting line faster, all thanks to more efficient aerodynamics with spoilers on the roof and rear.

The Volvo C40 Recharge claims an impressive 450KM range on a single charge based on the WLTP standards, that’s a 10% increase from the Volvo XC40 Recharge, while the electric motor produces 408PS and 660Nm that goes up to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds. In terms of charging speeds, it takes approximately 7.5 hours to fully charge the car with an 11kW AC input and a mere 28 minutes from 0-80% over a DC 150kW CCS2 connector.

Inside the car, it feels very much the same as the XC40 Recharge thought due to its coupe construction, head space is a little short on the rear seats, the car shares the same tech features as the XC40 Recharge including a 9-inch infotainment system powered by Google’s Android Automotive OS that’s paired with a 14-speaker 600W Harman Kardon sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Qi wireless charger.

In conjunction with the launch, Volvo Car Malaysia has also taken the opportunity to introduce its online sales platform, where it aims to have a direct relationship with customers by allowing them to purchase and make bookings on the C40 Recharge and other car models on the platform, the platform will also have full transparency on stock availability and estimated delivery dates, customers will ultimately have the choice to choose the dealership they intend to collect their cars and process necessary documents once everything is in order.

The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric retails officially at RM288,888 on the road without insurance and comes with a hassle-free package that includes 5 years of vehicle warranty, 8 years of battery warranty or 160,000km whichever comes first, 5 years of Volvo on Call (Roadside Assistance), 5 Years Volvo Service Included or up to 100,000km whichever comes first, 4 years Digital Service and a charging cable.
