Vivo Z5x goes official with 6.53″ Full HD+ punch-hole display and 5000mAh battery

Popular Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched a new mid-range smartphone in China, dubbed Z5x. The smartphone’s key highlights include a large punch-hole display and massive 5000mAh capacity battery with 18W fast charging support.

Vivo Z5x is equipped with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display featuring 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and an impressive 90.77% screen-to-body ratio. As confirmed by leaks before the launch of the phone, it has a Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor inside. When it comes to memory, the Z5x is available with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. Further storage expansion is possible too, all thanks to a dedicated microSD card slot.

In the camera department, Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone sports a 16MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup at the rear. The 16MP primary sensor has been paired with an f/1.78 aperture, while the 8MP ultra-wide angle camera has an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, the phone uses a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras come with various AI-enhanced features to boost the photography experience. The smartphone’s biggest selling point, as mentioned earlier, is the massive 5000mAh battery. It supports reverse charging as well, which means you can use the Z5x as a power bank to charge other mobile devices via OTG.

The Vivo Z5x starts at CNY1,398 (RM849) in China for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. On the other hand, the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs CNY1,998 (RM1,213). Color options include Midnight Black, Aurora Blue, and Phantom Black. The smartphone will be going on sale in China starting from next week. No word yet on availability outside China.
