The Vivo Z5x which was launched a month ago in China; the phone will also be making its way to India but will be rebranded as the Vivo Z1 Pro instead. Another thing that’s different is that the phone will be gaming-centric when it hits Indian shores, as reports suggest.
The official Z1 Pro page on Vivo India shows off the phone’s gaming features; weirdly, the features seem to be geared towards PUBG: Mobile; we say weird because the game is banned in India (although not fully) – a recent report said that gamers were arrested for playing PUBG: Mobile. Perhaps the features will come in handy in other games?
Note-worthy features on the Vivo Z1 Pro include a game countdown timer that reminds you to join a game if you’re on your home screen for some reason. There’s also a feature that lets you change your voice in the game as well as “4D” haptic vibrations and 3D surround sound when a match starts.
Since it is the Vivo Z5x re-branded, you can expect the same specs – think a 6.53-inch display , Snapdragon 712 chipset but with an “enhanced GPU”, a 5,000mAh battery, possibly up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and more.
The phone, however, is said to come with an upgraded 32MP selfie camera, as opposed to the Z5x’s 16MP lens. The phone will support 18W fast-charging and run on FunTouch OS 9. It is unsure if we’ll see the Vivo Z1 Pro in Malaysia; but if it does, we can see it doing well considering the size of our local PUBG: Mobile player base.
