It simply feels like yesterday that we have seen the new vivo V27 series, but then, the vivo V29e has been unveiled in India, which hints that a Malaysia launch is imminent.
Unlike the previous ‘e’ variants of the V series, the vivo V29e looks way more attractive than its predecessors featuring a two-tone premium design with a glossy matte texture that’s combined with diamond patterns, it also has a dual-curved edge 6.78-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution that refreshes at 120Hz and has a peak brightness of 1300 nits.
Powering the vivo V29e is the Snapdragon 695 processor paired to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage, the latter can be further expanded with a MicroSD card.
What makes the V29e more appealing than vivo’s other mid-range phones is its camera setup, it comprises a 64-megapixel main camera with OIS and a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the front camera is a 50-megapixel camera with auto-focus, which we can expect this to be a pretty decent shooter and are thankful that there isn’t a paltry 2-megapixel macro or depth camera to be found.
Otherwise, the vivo V29e comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, a 5000mAh battery that supports 44W vivo FlashCharge, and runs on FunTouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box.
The vivo V29e retails for INR26,999 (RM1,520) for the 8GB+128GB (RM1,631) variant and INR28,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant, and we do expect the phone to be priced lower when it arrives here, as the current V27e retails for just RM1,299 for the 8GB+256GB variant.
