vivo V29 5G: Taking Portrait Photography to the Next Level

While many smartphones today can take generally looking shots, not every one of them can take a good portrait photo.

The latest vivo V29 has undoubtedly, taken that to the next level with a larger Aura Light 2.0 that now supports color temperature adjustment, but it also introduces useful upgrades over its predecessor that smartphone portrait photographers will appreciate.

At first impressions, the vivo V29 features a similar design language as its predecessor, which is already very beautiful and fashionable, the Starry Purple color model we have here makes a statement when you take it out of your pockets, the phone measures 7.46mm slim and weighs just 189g despite sporting a large and colorful 6.78-inch 3D curved display.

The vivo V29’s shows sharper details with an upgraded 2860×1260 resolution, while offering a fast 120Hz refresh rate, this is one thing that users will really appreciate as you can view more content with less scrolling, such as reading an article and e-mail.

The vivo V29 carries over its predecessor’s camera hardware, which comprises of a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera.

With the new Aura Light 2.0 complementing the cameras, it enables a different feel in photos you take as you can now adjust between a cool and warm color temperature, it doesn’t only make portraits look better, but close up food shots as well, which is a great convenience as opposed to portable continuous lighting, here are some camera samples that we have taken with and without the Aura Light turned on.

We are well acquainted with the main camera back on the vivo V27 and happy to report that it still takes great looking images at outdoors and low light. As you can see on the camera samples below, the vivo V29’s camera managed to capture sharp details and very favorable colors.

The vivo V29 features the same 4600mAh battery as its predecessor which can easily last a heavy work day on a single charge, but it charges faster with 80W vivo FlashCharge, which will only require 18 minutes to be charged to 50% in case of a low battery situation, and more impressively, the phone will be fully charged in 1 hour with the battery fully depleted.

With these upgraded features, one might assume the vivo V29 to be more expensive than before, but on the contrary, the vivo V29 has a more affordable starting price of RM1,899 with 256GB of storage, while customers will only need to top up RM200 extra for 512GB of storage to store more media.
