The newly launched vivo V17 is the first of its series to feature an Ultra O Screen

Before 2019 ends, vivo has decided to release the second member of the V17 series, the vivo V17. While its interior is quite similar to the V17 Pro, the phone is slightly different when it comes to its outer appearance.

Instead of the popular pop-up camera as seen on the V15 Pro and the V17 Pro, the vivo V17 comes with an Ultra O Screen (read: punch-hole display). It is as big as the V17 Pro, housing a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED panel and sporting an in-display fingerprint sensor. Unfortunately, the V17 doesn’t have a dual-front camera like its elder sibling.

Under the hood, the V17 is equipped with a Snapdragon 675 AIE processor and has 8GB RAM paired with 256GB storage. Couple that with a 4,500mAh battery that supports Dual-Engine Fast Charging, the phone is optimal for extensive gaming and Netflix bingeing.

Despite lacking one extra lens compared to the V17 Pro, the V17 still has a powerful 48MP quad-camera setup. Aside from its primary camera, it has an 8MP super wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP bokeh sensor. There’s also no need to worry about lowlight photography; the V17 has both Super Night Mode and Super Night Selfie so you can take pictures using its rear and front camera even in dim scenarios.

Available in Admiral Blue and Crystal White, the vivo V17 is priced at RM1,699 and can be purchased from December 21 onwards.
