Vivo’s APEX 2020 with Super Flashcharge 120W might be the fastest charging smartphone

Last year, we heard about Xiaomi’s 100W charger than can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 17 minutes. This year, vivo wants to top it by introducing its Super Flashcharge 120W in the APEX 2020 that will be making its debut during MWC 2020.

With an increase in watts, the fast charging technology can supposedly fully charge a 4,000mAh battery phone in just 13 minutes whereas it’ll only take five minutes to charge it from 0% to 50%. This is also not the only highlight of the APEX 2020 as the series is known for its bezel-less design with innovative cameras and more.

If the APEX 2020 with 120W charging reaches the consumer’s end, this could be an exciting moment for us smartphone users. Despite it being unhealthy to be constantly using the phone, a phone that can immediately get 50% battery life in just five minutes will help those who urgently need their phones to carry on their daily tasks. Imagine forgetting to charge your phone last night and just needing five minutes in the morning to get half the battery life back — that would’ve been some crazy talk a decade ago.

This could also change our smartphone behavior. Many of us have the habit of charging our phones before we sleep and unplugging it the next morning. While this will not lead to your phone overcharging, it will degrade the device’s battery capacity. But if you’re using a phone that only needed a few minutes to fully charge, you won’t have to worry about overnight charging.

Unsurprisingly, vivo has not revealed any other crucial information regarding the APEX 2020, so we’ll have to wait for MWC 2020.
