Valve intends to overhaul the Steam Store within the next few weeks

The world’s biggest digital games store is about to receive a makeover as Valve has announced to developers that the Steam Store will be receiving an overhaul within the coming weeks.

According to a post found on Neogaf, Valve is looking to make some modifications to its online digital game store/games client soon. Some of the changes that Steam will receive includes cosmetic changes such as an visual refresh of the Steam homepage, as well as modifications to the store layout, with Valve adding a new section to the home page that highlights new releases that have reached the top sellers list.

Valve’s planned Steam overhaul will also include features that expands upon the Curator function. Valve will be adding tools to allow Steam Curators to indicate whether or not a game is recommended, not recommended, or simply informational. Users who follow more than one Steam Curator will also be able to see a specific section on the home page that highlights recent recommendations. This space can include popular new releases or smaller niche titles depending on the curator’s taste in games.
