Unknown Xiaomi “i” device in tow

India matters quite a lot in Xiaomi’s eyes. The company considers the country as one of its biggest markets globally. Just recently the Redmi Y1 selfie centric smartphone was launched exclusively in India, and it looks like there’s more to where that came from. This time, it probably won’t be a selfie focused smartphone, but “i” happens to be the important letter to note.

In a country where Xiaomi handsets are growing increasingly popular, the Chinese manufacturer teases an “i” device that will be coming soon. The teaser poster comes with the “i” along with dots resembling the colors of the India flag. As of now we can’t predict what type of smartphone or device that Xiaomi will be releasing, but it looks like it isn’t done for 2017 just yet.

It will however make a lot of sense if Xiaomi launches an “i” device meant to take a direct jab at Cupertino giant Apple. The company has been making strides so far this year, increasing smartphone shipments by a significant amount among the rest of the competition.

Speaking of Xiaomi, the beautifully crafted Mi MIX 2 has just been released in Malaysian shores through the Xiaomi Lazada store and at its official reselling outlets. Would you get one yourself?
