U Mobile unveils U Home 5G wireless broadband at RM78/month

The 5G war between Malaysia telcos continue to rage on, and U Mobile has unveiled the nation’s first contract-free 5G broadband plan, the U Home 5G, at just RM78/month, what’s even better is that there is no quota and speed cap to this plan, though a FUP (Fair Usage Policy) still applies should the telco notices abuse and abnormal usage above 1000GB, P2P and torrenting also isn’t allowed on the service.

U Home 5G is a SIM-only plan where customers can insert their SIM into DNB-certified 5G devices of their choice, while U Mobile doesn’t offer a device bundle, it did recommend consumers to purchase 5G CPEs directly from ZTE Malaysia’s store on Lazada and Shopee to enjoy the service, these 5G CPEs include the ZTE MC801A1 and ZTE MC8020 5G CPE, the ZTE MF286C 4G CPE is also in the recommended list if you don’t require 5G.

For a limited time, the U Home 5G wireless broadband plan will be available for a lifetime subscription price of just RM68/month instead of RM78/month, U Mobile hasn’t specified when this promo will end but if your area is covered by DNB’s 5G network and don’t want to pay for expensive and slow fixed broadband costs, this is probably a good choice and we recommend picking up a cheap 5G smartphone, and use it as a mobile hotspot are your home.
