U Mobile is expected to introduce unlimited music streaming service tomorrow (Update: MusicOnz is now official)

It isn’t new that U Mobile’s CMO Jasmine Lee teased about an upcoming service from the telco using Instagram, as we have noticed that she has posted up a short video showing the names of super stars and their music genre, while teasing that something exciting is coming soon and asking everyone to charge up their phones. If our guess isn’t wrong, the data centric telco should be on the move to make another big announcement to their already generous data plans, directly competing with Digi’s Music Freedom service, which the latter offers its postpaid and prepaid customers with 15GB of free music streaming data.

U Mobile has continued to extend its Video Onz video streaming promotion due to popular demand and since music streaming has been rather common among most users, it would make a lot of sense for the telco to launch an unlimited music streaming service next. What do you think about it?

UPDATE 25/11/2016: U Mobile has unveiled MusicOnz, free unlimited streaming for 12 services including Spotify, JOOX, KKBOX, TIDAL and more. Postpaid users get unlimited music streaming data while Prepaid users will also benefit this by subscribing to any UMI packages.
