Twitter will soon have automatic night mode

Night modes in apps are saviours for folks who constantly browse through their smartphones in the dark. In app night modes work differently from the ones in a smartphone’s software. Instead of incorporating a blue light filter, the app will use a dark background instead of a bright colored one. For instance, Twitter which orginally has a white background has a grey background for night mode. Speaking of which, the app will soon introduce an automatic form of night mode.

This new feature is said to currently be tested in the app’s beta channel. The option will be available in Settings under Night mode, the same exact place for users to activate night mode in Twitter. Instead of having only an “on” and “off” option, it now has an “automatic” option. Selecting that option will trigger night mode when its night and goes off during the day. It wasn’t specified whether or not users will be able to set specifc times for night mode to go on, but that will definitely come in handy.

Regardless, the new feature will likely roll out to the official versions of the Twitter app in the near future. This new option comes after night mode was added into the app in July last year. What do you think?
