Touch ‘n Go eWallet to charge 1% transaction fee for overseas QR code payments

Touch ‘n Go eWallet is one of the more versatile digital wallets in Malaysia that allows you to make payments in over 40 countries, but for those who are looking to depend on the service further, the digital payment provider has announced that a 1% transaction fee will be applied for overseas QR payment.

While it is a disappointing news for some, especially for those who uses the service to make Alipay payments in China, TNG Digital has explained that this has been a standard for eWallet services and the company has subsidized all international payments previously to promote the use of TnG eWallet in overseas, though fortunately, the 1% transaction fee doesn’t apply to the TnG eWallet VISA Prepaid card, so you can pretty much still use that should the payment terminal supports VISA cards.

Despite that, TNG Digital ensures that its currency exchange rate will remain competitive, while the conversion fee will be shown for the user’s approval when they make their QR code payments.
