Three weeks old iPhone Xs Max explodes in Ohio man’s pocket

Exploding smartphones are definitely a big issue as it can cause severe injuries to the owners, which is why when an iPhone Xs Max exploded recently in US, everyone knows about it.

While it’s unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that had its production stopped because majority of the phones were exploding, the iPhone Xs Max’s explosion is still a major news as it’s only three weeks old. This is surprising as there has been no other iPhone Xs Max facing this issue and the exploded iPhone Xs Max is rather new.

The owner of the iPhone Xs Max is Josh Hillard who is based in Ohio. When Hillard realised his iPhone is becoming very hot and started releasing green and yellow smoke in his back pocket, he left the room and found somewhere private to take off his clothes and shoes. Right after that, the explosion became a full-blown fire, but thankfully it was extinguished.

However, Hillard was very dissatisfied about the amount of smoke he had inhaled thanks to the phone that was on fire. It was not only physically but psychologically traumatising for the man.

Hillard is also contemplating on legal action for the trauma suffered from the incident, though Apple did offer a new iPhone Xs Max to him which he accepted. This explosion of the iPhone Xs Max is actually a first for the device, though previously the iPhone X had also caused a similar incident.
