This copycat phone packs a pretty decent punch

If you’ve tried guessing, you probably got it right. Yes, its yet another Chinese phone, inspired by a couple of major flagships out there. Introducing the S6 Pro, not to be confused with last year’s Galaxy flagship by Samsung, since this one’s by Chinese manufacturer Gionee. Don’t get to hyped up on the “Pro” title, but the Gionee S6 Pro is just decent enough to impress some faces out there.

Based on the image, the Gionee S6 Pro’s rear panel looks like it was inspired by a certain Huawei Mate 8, and its front panel could just pass off as a Galaxy S6 clone. Diving into its specs, the S6 Pro sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display at Full HD resolution. Its internals consist of an octa core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via micro SD.

The Gionee S6 Pro features a 13MP PDAF primary camera, coupled with an 8MP front facing shooter. The handset has a 3,130mAh battery for the power it needs, plus a rear fingerprint sensor. Also, not forgetting, the S6 Pro uses a USB Type-C port, so the joke’s on you, Samsung. The device will be running on Android Marshmallow out of the box, and is offered in gold, silver and rose gold color options. The Gionee S6 Pro carries a 1,999 CNY (RM1,243.43) price tag, which is pretty decent for a mid-range handset, despite its copycat design elements.
